10 Bad Habits That Can Kill You Slowly

Life is a gift that God rewards to every living being on this earth. One shall take care of their health by consuming healthy foods and fixing your routine. While the modern era has proven to be innovative and helpful for everyone. It has also shown its side effects on the majority. Besides this, most people remain under persistent stress due to rising global competition. Which in turn leads them towards bad habits. In other words, you should enjoy the privileges of the new innovative technology but should keep yourself under a specific limit because shortcuts can sometimes kill you. With that being said, today I have brought an article to provide you awareness regarding 10 habits that could negatively affect your health in the long run. So, without wasting any more time, let`s head straight to the article.

Smoking Or Oral Nicotine Addiction

Most people will tell you that cigarettes are harmful to your health. And they are right! But this is an incomplete explanation of something that has the power to take someone to his grave. Cigarettes are filled with several harmful chemicals. Common ones are nicotine and tar, which contain over 71 toxic chemicals that can pollute your lungs and destroy your heart`s sensitive arteries. So, if you have started smoking due to peer pressure or unmanageable stress, quit before things go south!

Skipping Meals Everyday

Breakfast is the most integral meal of the entire day as our body goes into a catabolic state overnight to repair any damages done the day prior and to give your body some rest. But due to the busy lifestyle of most people, they willingly skip breakfast to reach their office early. This causes a massive spike in cortisol levels in our body, eventually leading to diabetes, a weak immune system, and even muscle loss. Eating at least three times daily is recommended to keep your metabolism regular and avoid further complications later on.

Poor Food Choices

Most people run away from the thought of eating a healthy meal. After this, they end up choosing foods that are incredibly unhealthy for them. They don`t understand that it doesn`t have to be that way. Healthy foods also can light those taste buds. All you have to do is keep your macronutrients and calories under check. This would allow you to plan your meals flexibly without compromising your health.

Overconsumption Of Foods

Regardless of how healthy your meals are, overeating them could be as dangerous as skipping meals every day. Many of us have the habit of reading while eating or sitting in front of a television for hours while grabbing a soft drink in our hands. These habits could lead you towards obesity, which could also affect your internal organs. Keep track of your calories to avoid overconsumption of food.

No Exercise And Inactive Life

If you have been following a healthy lifestyle by following a balanced diet. Then I am afraid that it`s not that simple. Diet and workouts should be done in combination to extract the best out of them. Otherwise, following any of them is as useless as a glass hammer. Exercising at least thrice a week is recommended if your schedule is too busy. Your training should consist of both cardiovascular exercises as well as hypertrophy training.

Too Much Screen Time

Television and mobile phones emit harmful radiations, which could harm your health. Especially if you watch it before sleep as your body prepares to repair its internal organs and hormones. Exposing your body to radiation at such a vulnerable time could cause hormone imbalances and even cardiac arrests. Besides this, our mind gets sensitive after getting tired; thus, watching television or videos on your mobile phone could expose you to sleep disorders and nightmares.

Not Getting Enough Sleep

Our body enters a sleep cycle as we go to bed every day. And every sleep cycle should last 6 hours before waking up again. Sleeping too much or too little could have adverse effects on your health. Therefore, one should get at least an 8 hour sleep to avoid health risks. Moreover, it is recommended that one should never sleep just after completing his first sleep cycle. This could cause migraine headaches, fatigue, and lack of focus.

Drugs And Alcohol

The World Health Organization is taking effective measures for people who are drug addicts as drugs are not only responsible for killing people physically. But also for killing people emotionally, internally, and financially. On the contrary, due to our stressful environment, many people start overconsuming alcohol. However, alcohol would give you a dopamine kick. But overconsumption of alcohol could lead to several fatal diseases like cardiac arrests, liver cancer, and even kidney failure.

Too Much Stress

Living in a stressful world is a challenge only some are willing to accept. You should be able to balance your work, private life, or something forcing you to endure that stress. Taking too much pressure can boost your cortisol levels, leading to fatigue, sleeping disorders, and overeating. If you cannot manage your stress, you can opt for yoga classes or an early morning jog.

Working For An Excessive Amount Of Time

This might sound surprising to you, but working at the office could generally provide you with better brain functioning. But overdoing it could turn out to be the opposite. So, if you have been working a lot lately and cannot figure out the reason for those persistent headaches, then this might be the real reason this is happening. I recommend engaging in other activities, such as playing games and exercising at the gym, as sleep alone cannot do wonders. Our mind needs a change in activities to operate properly.
